Cargo Cargo, Magical Cargo

Posted on 18 Oct 2016 @ 7:45am by Lieutenant JG Seras & Lieutenant Claire Annette

Mission: Prelude; Breakfast at Curmudgeon's
Location: Cargo Bay

Claire had two security people with her when she entered the cargo bay and looked for someone that looked like they were in charge. The orders called out in an oddly synthetic voice was a dead giveaway and easily heard over the bustle of work. Smiling politely, she made her way towards the woman that the voice was coming from. "Excuse me, I'm Lieutenant Annette. I was told that several crates had been delivered for security and we'd like to get them out of your way. Is there a manifest or anything that I need to sign?"

Seras turned to see who was addressing her, blinking in surprise at how pale Lieutenant Annette was. "Uhhh, Security..." Seras finally said in thought as she looked at the PaDD in hand. "Security, Security...." she mumbled as she went through the list, looking for anything earmarked for Security. "I have a shipment of standard issue rifles and phasers, but I already had that sent to the armory. However, looks like we also have an additional requisition still out. Bladed weapons?" Seras glanced up at Claire for confirmation.

Claire nodded, her smile widening. "Right. Six crates of various blades from a local dealer on the station. Upeen Arms, I think the name is."

"Yes, Upeen," Seras replied with a nod, then began to move through the maze of cargo crates looking for something. "They weren't marked for delivery to the Armory so I didn't know what to do with them. Once the last of the deliveries were made, I was going to contact Security to see what you wanted us to do with them," Seras explained as she led Claire through the Cargo bay to a set of crates. "I have four of six crates. The last flat delivered was already overloaded, so they couldn't fit all the crates. The next flat coming in should have the other two crates. I can call for a grav sled and have these delivered to the Armory now or simply wait until the shipment is whole before sending it up."

"We're here so we can get these if you can loan us a grav sled. Mind if I check the contents first though? I'd like to make sure they're as advertised." Claire requested, the 2 security personnel with her looking rather bored.

"Yeah, sure," Seras said with a nod, stepping away from the crates so that Claire could access them. "Daniels, can you free up a grav sled," she called out to a crewman across the way. The crewman nodded and went to go find a grav sled they could spare to deliver the crates.

Unsealing the first crate, she motioned for her two companions to open the others. Claire then opened it up and pulled out one of the blades. this one was full of shortswords and wakizashis. Unsheathing the wakizashi she'd grabbed, she studied the blade and tested the sharpness with her thumb. The other cases were full of Klingon made mek'leths and daggers. "Perfect. These should perforate more than a few Borg, I think."

"Lovely," Seras said with a hint of sadness; she, like the rest of her people, was a pacifist at heart, so the idea of going into battle was not one that Seras relished. A moment later, Crewman Daniels came around with a grav sled. "If they meet your approval, then I need your thumbprint to verify that you are taking possession of these crates," Seras said as she pulled up the requisition to mark four of the crates as delivered, then offered the PaDD to Claire to 'sign'.

Pressing her thumb to the PaDD, Claire watched as the crates were loaded up and her companions headed out with those 4 crates. "Thank you very much. When the other crates come in, they'll need to go to the security offices for now. No room left in the armory. Besides, we'll need to run them through inventory and all that."

"Of course," Seras said, taking the PaDD back and making a notation on the file. "Anything else I can do for you?"

"Unless you're interested in one of the blades for yourself, that should be it. Thank you... ehm... What was your name again?" Claire couldn't remember if she'd introduced herself or not now.

"Seras," the young Cairn replied simply. "And no thank you, I'll have to pass on the blades, I don't much care for them. But thank you for the offer."

"Any time. If you need anything from security, just let me know. See you around." Claire smiled brighter and bowed her head respectfully. This seemed like a good person to network with.

Seras returned the bow with a slight smile. "Thank you," she said softly, then returned to her work. What an interesting person!
